Classics Under a New Angle: Prime Era Club Invites You to a Discussion on Balzac’s “The Human Comedy”

July 16 @ 18:00 - 19:00 UTC+6

The Prime Era private intellectual community is pleased to announce its upcoming event focused on the profound analysis of world literature and its relevance to modern times. This evening will center around Honoré de Balzac’s monumental work, The Human Comedy, a grand cycle of novels providing a sweeping panorama of 19th-century French society.

Why does Balzac remain so remarkably relevant today? He was among the first authors to masterfully demonstrate how money, ambition, and social status shape human destinies and reconstruct relationships – themes that remain highly pressing in our era. His characters – including careerists, cynics, idealists, and disillusioned romantics – perfectly mirror the individuals we encounter in today’s societal and business landscapes.

The book review and discussion will be led by Zhaksylyk Sabitov, a prominent historian, author of numerous scientific articles, and Head of the Scientific Institute for the Study of the Jochi Ulus under the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. His multidisciplinary approach will guide the audience beyond standard literary analysis, offering insights through historical, social, and behavioral perspectives.

We invite you to participate in this engaging dialogue, challenge conventional views, and explore timeless literature from an entirely new vantage point.
