Child Protection in the Digital Age: Qazaqstan IGF 2026 to Feature TechnoWomen Session on Social Media Restrictions

On October 14, Almaty will host the 4th National Internet Governance Forum (Qazaqstan IGF 2026), featuring a dedicated expert session organized by TechnoWomen. The discussion will center on the safety of children and adolescents in the digital environment and potential legislative measures for their protection.

The core agenda addresses the legislative bill proposing restrictions on social media access for minors under the age of 16. Participants will critically evaluate the potential benefits and risks of such regulation, alongside practical implementation challenges and the safeguarding of minors’ digital rights.
