The round table “Digital Economy: New opportunities for women” was held on October 12, 2023 at the site of the International Forum “Digital Bridge 2023” with the support of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Chairman of the National Commission, A. Balayeva, proposed to develop a program called “TechnoWomen Startup”, the purpose of which will be to support women’s technology projects.
According to the Chairman of the National Commission, expanding access to digital technologies for women can significantly improve their economic situation and create new opportunities in the labor market. In this regard, the initiative working group was organized on the basis of the non-profit organization “TechnoWomen”, which presented the program “Qazaq e-com” at the Digital Bridge 2023 platform, aimed at involving micro and small entrepreneurs in e-commerce. It includes measures to simplify tax administration, increase the transparency of certification of goods and the development of digital competencies.
In order to promote women’s entrepreneurship under the auspices of the National Commission, the TechnoWomen Association organized a presentation of 20 IT projects presented by women to akimats, regional and international business communities. Currently, TechnoWomen has a partner network in Central Asian countries, which unites progressive women from Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
