Free training in robotics for 100 girls will be held in Astana as part of the social project RoboTechnoGirls (Super100!)
From June 1 to August 31, 2024, free training in the basics of robotics will be held in Astana for 100 girls as part of the social project RoboTechnoGirls (Super100!), organized by the Robotek school and the NGO “TechnoWomen”.
The project is supported by the National Commission for Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Today, there is a clear gender imbalance, especially among students of technical faculties (IT, engineering, cybersecurity, etc.). 36% of boys and only 10% of girls are considering entering the University to specialize in applied computer science. Gender division into clubs begins already in elementary school. There is a stereotype in society to send boys to technical clubs and girls to creative sections. But we are sure that girls can also be successful in STEM disciplines.
The mission of the RoboTechnoGirls (Super100) project is to make STEM subjects more accessible to girls. The goal of the project is to organize accessible robotics courses for 100 girls. During the summer of 2024, free robotics training will be held for 100 girls from grades 3-6 in Astana. Project operator: Robotek robotics school (Astana). Experience since 2014. Has extensive experience in implementing social projects.
As the founder of the Robotek school, Sanzhar Shalkarbekov, claims, the RoboTechnoGirls project will help girls take the first and confident step into the future, help them decide on their choice of profession, and create domestic intelligent technologies.
According to the Chairperson of the Board of the NGO “TechnoWomen” Aziza Shuzheeva, the purpose of this project is to increase the motivation of girls and women to study the basics of robotics, to awaken interest in information technology, engineering, artificial intelligence,
