More than 3 thousand Kazakhstani women are studying in the second stream of the IT-Aiel program

Astana Hub sums up the results of the IT-Aiel 2.0 educational program, implemented in cooperation with the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the NGO “TechnoWomen”.

The project, which started in June 2024, attracted wide interest: 5,200 applications were submitted by women from all regions of Kazakhstan. Of these, 3,084 participants began training and are actively mastering No-code programming, the basics of freelancing, e-commerce and other in-demand skills. At the moment, 62 participants have successfully completed the training, having received the necessary knowledge to start their careers or entrepreneurship.

The program covered women over 18 years old, including the unemployed, women on maternity leave, students and aspiring entrepreneurs. The largest number of participants were registered from Astana, Almaty, Almaty and West Kazakhstan regions.

Among the successful initiatives of the second stream of the program, the following participants’ projects can be highlighted:

— Sagilya Sagidan from Kyzylorda developed the educational platform EdKids, which helps children gain access to quality knowledge and develop their skills from an early age. The platform is focused on interactive learning and is accessible to a wide range of users.
— Asel Karazhan from Aktobe created a website for the AKM Education school to prepare for mental arithmetic. The school helps children and adolescents develop analytical thinking, improve memory and concentration, offering modern approaches to learning.
— Meruert Zharylkasynova from Astana launched the application “Qadam. Grants for Business and Startups in Kazakhstan”, which provides entrepreneurs and startups with up-to-date information on available grants and support programs. The application significantly simplifies the search and submission of applications, contributing to the development of small and medium businesses.
— Aidana Sembayeva from Almaty developed a chatbot in Telegram to automate interactions with clients and employees. The chatbot solves routine tasks such as answering frequently asked questions, processing orders and internal communications, increasing the efficiency of business processes.

Recall that in 2023, more than 2,000 women from 17 regions of Kazakhstan were trained as part of the first stream of the IT-Aiel program. 50 participants created their own IT products, such as websites and applications, which allowed them to significantly improve their career prospects.

The IT-Aiel project demonstrates that digital education is a powerful tool for empowering women, allowing them to develop their skills and make a significant contribution to the IT industry of Kazakhstan.
